“The Six and the Crystals of Ialana” by Katlynn Brooke is one of those epic fantasy books targeting a YA audience where a band of scrappy teenagers uses the power of friendship to fight an evil tyrant. That aside, it also has some interesting world-building ideas too.
I call it YA, but I feel like that other than a few PG-13 moments of fantasy violence, it's a great book for the niche of working as a bridge between middle-grade readers transitioning to young adult readers. If you want my full review you can get it here.
